Asbestos building products were used extensively in houses, offices, public buildings and industrial premises thoughout the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's until blue & brown type
Asbestos was banned in 1985 and finally the use of all types of Asbestos was banned in 1999.
In most cases, Asbestos is often best left alone but it does depend on the type and position of the Asbestos. Cutting, drilling
and sanding Asbestos is particularly dangerous and should be avoided.
Problems can occur when undertaking DIY tasks or when engaging builders to carry out modifications and extentions to existing buildings
