The purpose of the survey is to locate, as far as reasonably practical the presence and extent of any suspect Asbestos Containing Materials in the premises and assess condition. This is done by a visual inspection of the premises to identify materials which may contain Asbestos. Samples are collected for analysis at a UKAS accredited laboratory and the results included in the Asbestos Register Report.
Refurbishment/Demolition Survey
This type of survey is used to locate and describe, as far as reasonably practicable, all Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) in the property and may involve destructive inspection to gain access to all areas, including those areas difficult to reach. A full sampling program is undertaken to identify possible Asbestos Containing Materials and estimate amount.
This survey is designed to be used as a basis for tendering for the removal of Asbestos Containing Materials from a premises prior to demolition and to support major refurbishment. (Homeowners preparing to undertake major building works are advised to carry out a Refurbishment and Demolition Survey prior to commencing works)
